Making the perfect cup of chai!

Making chai the traditional way, over a stovetop, is a bit of a labor of love, but we do believe you will indeed come to love it. Take the few minutes afforded to you while brewing your chai to take a deep breath and start your day on the right foot, or to clear your head and step away from your computer for a nice afternoon break. Making chai is a wonderful meditative practice, so allow it to be.

To Prepare

Making the perfect cup of chai takes years of experience. Well, or you can just follow our recipe.

Mix together 1 cup milk, 1 cup water, and 2 tsp masala mix on the stovetop. Bring it all to a boil and remove from heat. Add 4 tsp of sugar. Bring it all to a boil one more time. That's it!

Strain, serve warm, and read a good book!

The Milk

We're from Wisconsin, so naturally we prefer some nice creamy whole milk. But this is your chai! Use any milk or milk alternative you like!

The Sugar

Traditionally chai is sweetened with good ol' fashioned table sugar, however we also love substituting with honey or agave nectar!

The Spice

We like our chai to remind us of India - hot and spicy! If it is a bit too much for you, no worries, just use less masala mix. Need more spank? Keep scooping!

No two cups of chai are ever the same. Just a using bit more masala, or a little less sugar, or a different type of milk, can impact the flavor in a surprising way. So have fun with it. Experiment. Try different sweeteners or milks. Try adding new ingredients like vanilla extract or coconut oil. Try adding it to your morning coffee. Try it chilled. Try using the masala for baking pies, cookies, or pastries.

Chai is fun and versatile, so don't be shy!
